Here is a quick video update on our collaboration with the Golden-Headed Lion Tamarin Conservation Project. Tamarin Trust is supporting efforts to help this beautiful species in its home state of Bahia, Brazil. These monkeys are at increasing threat from habitat loss, forcing them to cross roads and power lines, and raid shops for food. This short video tells the story of the situation facing many golden headed lion tamarins. The footage was taken in the last 10 months either by Tamarin Trust’s Dom Wormell, or by people working in the area to save the tamarins. Tamarin Trust is working hard to raise funds and support the management of rescued tamarins, and in the video you will see how much progress has already been made, with the first two units designed to house rescued monkeys already completed. Many more groups will need to be saved as unfortunately this wonderful monkey faces huge challenges to survive in the wild. If you can help Leo and Danilio please get in touch at www.tamarintrust.org.
